Manage Package Options

Overview

You can manage your package options for your WP Squared accounts in WHM’s Add a Package, Edit a Package, and Delete a Package interfaces.

Note:

Some hosting providers use the term “domain templates” to describe packages.

Create a package

You can add a new package in WHM’s Add a Package interface (WHM » Home » Packages » Add a Package). To create a package, perform the following steps:

  1. Enter the desired package name in the Package Name text box.

    Important:

You cannot modify package names. For this reason, avoid package names that include details that you may wish to change later, such as price.

    Note:
    • Because the system stores packages as files, you may use any valid file name. However, to prevent conflicts with package extensions, you cannot name package extensions.
    • The WP Squared interface only displays the package’s name.
    • For easier package management, create fewer packages and use short names.

  2. Enter the required information in the Resources and Settings sections. The Settings section also allows you to change settings for some third-party packages if the package provider configured this ability. For more information on each option, see Resource options and Settings options tables.

  3. Click Add.

Packages can include the following resource options:

You cannot edit this option after package creation. To change this setting, you must create a new package.

LocaleSelect a locale from the menu.

Package Extensions

Important:
You cannot add or remove package extensions from an existing package through WHM. You may either add a package or use API calls to modify package extension data if you wish to use a different set of package extensions.

When you select a package extension, such as Default WP Set, you are selecting the set to use for the WP Squared account. Any future website created using that account will then use the list of themes and plugins listed from that set. You can manage these sets from the WP Toolkit interface (WHM » Home » Plugins » WP Toolkit).

If you select the LVE Settings option, you can set custom LVE limits. For the types of LVE Limits you can manage, read CloudLinux Manager’s LVE limits documentation.

How to edit a package

You can edit a package in WHM’s Edit a Package interface (WHM » Home » Packages » Edit a Package). To edit a package, perform the following steps:

  1. Select the package that you wish to edit from the Package menu.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make the desired changes.
  4. Click Save Changes to save your changes, or Reset to return to the existing values.

How to delete a package

You can delete a package from your server using the Delete a Package interface (WHM » Home » Packages » Delete a Package).

Warning:
  • Exercise caution when you delete a package, because you cannot recover a deleted package. You will have to recreate it.
  • You cannot delete a package that a WP Squared account on your server currently uses.

To delete a package, perform the following steps:

  1. Select the package that you wish to delete from the Package menu.
  2. Click Delete to delete the package.
